Getting test results and saving them in a file

Hello everyone, I'm very new to anything web development and I am trying to save some specific results from a test to a file. Could anyone give me an idea how to just get the test result (e.g. success or fail) and time it took to complete. I'm not asking for help with writing to a file, I need help extracting that specific data. Thanks in advance.
