Software Development Engineering in Test

Opala is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a solid expertise in Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET) and familiarity with software testing methodologies. The role includes designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test strategies and frameworks. The individual will work closely with software developers, architects, and product owners to maintain the quality and reliability of our software products.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with software developers, architects, and product owners to understand software requirements, design specifications, and technical constraints
• Create scalable, maintainable, and efficient automated test frameworks using industry-leading tools and technologies
• Define test scenarios and test cases to ensure the quality of the team’s deliverables
• Perform root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and propose appropriate corrective actions
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the overall testing and software development lifecycle
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and projects, from inception to completion. Proactively manage and prioritize your workload to meet project deadlines
• Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

Experience

• 3 - 5 years of development experience using Python, Java, Javascript and/or Go
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using industry-standard test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium etc.)
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to identify edge cases and corner scenarios for comprehensive test coverage
• Deep understanding of TDD principles
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision, while also being a collaborative team player

Compensation

$118,450.00 - $151,836.00 YEAR
