Usefulness in relation to native Android testing?

As far as I can tell the PW emulator only let's you test mobile browsers in the emulator. Does this say anything about the probability of the native app working properly on an android device?
And either way, what are the experiences here from general browser testing results related to proper functioning on mobile devices?
