The --shard option

Does the --shard option use consistent hashing, assuming the denominator stays the same? In other words, if I add or remove test cases, is it guaranteed that all other cases will continue to be mapped to the same shard? Thank you!

No guarantees, I think tests are sorted alphabetically and then sharded. If you add/remove tests then the order might change.
